Practice in Styria
Oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Styria
In Styria I treat patients in the practice of Dr. Gerhard Ecker‑Krisch in Thörl, in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district north of Kapfenberg. As a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, I offer dental implants, wisdom tooth removal and maxillofacial procedures there – close to home for patients from the Kapfenberg and Bruck an der Mur area.
Dental implants in Styria
I also place dental implants in Thörl – from single implants to a fixed restoration of a whole jaw on a few implants (All-on-X). Every implant procedure is based on careful planning of the position, angle and number of implants using a three-dimensional X-ray. For implant treatment you receive an invoice (Honorarnote) that you can submit to your health insurer; the insurer decides on reimbursement.
If the bone of the upper jaw has receded severely, zygomatic implants anchored in the cheekbone are an option. I perform this procedure at University Hospital St. Pölten in Lower Austria. More on the pages Dental implants and All-on-X and zygomatic implants.
Maxillofacial and dental surgery in Thörl
In Thörl I remove wisdom teeth that lack space or are impacted, as well as teeth that can no longer be saved. In addition, I perform apicoectomies and gum procedures. These treatments are covered by statutory health insurance: they are billed directly via the e‑card at no extra cost to you and are usually carried out as outpatient procedures under local anaesthesia. More under Wisdom tooth removal and Oral surgery.
Jaw joint, teeth grinding and aesthetic treatments
For pain or clicking in the jaw joint and for teeth grinding, I identify the cause with a functional analysis and treat with custom-made occlusal splints, among other things (TMJ treatment). I also offer Botox in Thörl – medically for teeth grinding and jaw joint problems or aesthetically – as well as fillers.
Larger procedures at University Hospital St. Pölten
I perform procedures that require a hospital at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of University Hospital St. Pölten in Lower Austria: orthognathic surgery to correct jaw misalignment, zygomatic implants, surgical jaw joint treatment such as jaw joint lavage, rhinoplasty and medically necessary eyelid surgery. I will be happy to discuss with you beforehand whether such a procedure is an option for you.
